About

Connie Takarangi

Here at Taupo Alterations we offer a wide range of clothing alteration and repair services. We want you to know everything you ever wanted altered or repaired, will be treated with care in our safe capable hands.

What better way to care for a much loved favourite item of clothing than to have it lovingly mended, or altered to be worn again.

We are proud of our attention to detail, right down to those intricate elements and finishing touches that will make your garment or outfit sing. We want you to think of us as your top ‘go to’ for clothing alterations, repairs and styling advice.
We focus on the ethos of being able to alter or repair garments (or other items), that might otherwise go to landfill. We believe that re-purposing , up-cycling and re-making are a good foundation for us as a company. It’s important to us that our clients know that by using our services they too are a part of a positive movement of sustainability within the global environment.

Our Principle Connie Takarangi

Connie heads our team and has a passion for anything fibre and fabric related, her curiosity for clothing and the stories they tell. Along with an incredible talent to construct, re-make, re-construct , manipulate and alter garments, which has led her to become a well known NZ textile and fibre artist.

At Taupo Alterations, where we think further than just hemming your trousers, altering your dress, or repairing your coat or cushions. These are items that are close to your heart, or new to your wardrobe, they all have a meaning to you and we acknowledge and know this.
